This chair is constructed from discarded bicycle frames and scrap fabric, exploring repurposing as both a material and emotional act. In a context where bicycles are common yet frequently abandoned, the design reconsiders how value is perceived by retaining the scratches, dents, and visible history of the original materials rather than concealing them. This interplay reflects the core idea of repurposed design, where materials are not erased but recontextualized into new functions.
Beyond a material exercise, the project reflects on system-level sustainability by questioning not only how objects are designed, but what is discarded. The resulting chair functions as both a seat and a statement against linear consumption, suggesting circular narratives where materials can continuously find new roles.
