A SENSE OF WAKEFULNESS
Biotrium addresses student attention and well-being in lecture rooms without natural light by introducing a system of adjustable lighting and biophilic projection. By aligning properties of light with circadian rhythms, the space becomes responsive to time and human perception rather than remaining static. The growing projection acts as a subtle indicator of time passing and provides moments of mental rest without interrupting the lecture.
Through user input, prototyping, and iterative testing, the project treats visual atmosphere as tools to shape how a space is experienced. Technology and sensing are used not for optimization, but to create an environment that supports awareness, focus, and well-being.
